National Art Gallery Hosts Workshops for Teachers and Students at Sir Charles Hayward Library
Saturday, April 6th was a red letter day for the Art Teachers of Grand Bahama, as the National Art Gallery of the Bahamas hosted a first ever day-long workshop under the theme “Integrating Art and History” in Freeport. This workshop is part of the programming around the Art Museum’s travelling exhibition.
This was the first of three workshops held at Sir Charles Hayward Library: the other two being two and a half hour workshops for Senior Students on April 8th and the other for the Primary Students held on April 9th.
Conducting the workshops was Education and Outreach Manager, Katrina Cartwright, assisted by Curatorial Assistant, Matthew Rahming and Assistant Curator, Richardo Barrett. This is only the second time that the National Art Gallery has brought an Art Exhibition to Grand Bahama; the first being in March, 2016. On both occasions the National Art Gallery made presentations to students from various schools on the work of the National Art Gallery.
